In celebration of Buck Jones Nursery’s 40th Anniversary, we are highlighting our wonderful employees. Some are new and some have been with us for many years. We hope that by learning more about our history and our employees, our mission will be made clear.

Rebekah Chadderdon
What was your first job in the green industry? Buck Jones in Woodstock
What’s the biggest challenge in your career been? Dealing with “superstar” egos.
Who are some of the people who have influenced your career? Stanley Knaub (Dance Instructor), Greg Lagola (Choreographer) and Mark Sylvester (Designer/Artist).
What do you consider your biggest career success to date? Great moments are either being a soloist while dancing on the stage at Carnegie Hall or having an action photo chosen as the show’s advertisements. They were on the billboards, programs and tickets nationally.
If you had to do it over again, what would you do differently? I would have given myself credit for my accomplishments. You are your own worst critic and I’m a perfectionist.
If you had to pick the part you love most about your career, what would it be? Creating and designing through choreography and positively influencing students.
How about your least favorite part? Negative attitudes.
If someone you know was going to be entering the green industry today, what advice would you give them? Love what you do and remind yourself of that when dealing with unpleasant situations.
Toot your own horn for a minute. What’s the one thing most responsible for your success? Hard work, dedication and perseverance. I know, that was three!
If you could change careers for a month, what would you do? I would be a professional cake decorator like the ones on Food Network.
What really annoys you? Loud eating.
What are some things that you like to do when you’re not working? Dance, cook, solve puzzles, shop, arts & crafts.
Give me a bit of trivia about yourself that most people probably don’t realize. I love writing in ultra fine point colored Sharpies.

Between the dancing & the sharpies, Jana & Rebekah should get along just fine !! Happy 40th Buck Jones Nursery !
